I don't ever have a problem going to sleep. As soon as my head hits the pillow, my husband says I am out like a light. Unfortunately for him, he often can't go right to sleep and he lays there and tosses and turns (no, that doesn't wake me up but he tells me about it.) He uses a couple of different aromatherapy methods to get to sleep now.
Dilute the following essential oils into 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil and massage the blend into your body. For an individual massage, you only need to use a teaspoon of this mixture.
- 10 drops chamomile
- 10 drops lemon
- 10 drops marjoram
After massaging this blend into your skin, take an essential oil bath. Put 4 drops of any of the following oils (or a blend of any of them) into your bath water: marjoram, chamomile, clary-sage, sandalwood or lemon. Your bath water should be warm, not too hot or too cool. Get in the bath and just relax or read a book - not an action or horror story though. Then go to bed. You can repeat this every night or as needed.
